Clifford Chance advises Oriens in relation to the acquisition of retail chain Hruška

The Prague office of Clifford Chance has provided legal support to Oriens in relation to its acquisition of the renowned Hruška retail chain.

The transaction included the acquisition of full ownership stakes in companies H R U Š K A , spol. s r.o. and SEMPRONEMO, s.r.o by Central European Retail Holding s.r.o., a subsidiary of the Oriens group. The deal successfully closed on 30 April 2024.

Hruška, with over 570 stores, is a significant player in the Moravian and Eastern Bohemian regions. The acquisition strengthens Oriens group's presence in the Czech retail market, building upon previous acquisition of Flosman in 2021, and Pramen in 2023 on which Clifford Chance advised as well.

The M&A Clifford Chance team working on this transaction was led by counsel Michal Jašek, with support from senior associate Tomáš Procházka. The interdisciplinary team further included tax adviser and counsel Petr Šebesta and junior lawyers Martin Hrachovina, Jiří Krejča and Petr Ryšina.
